CAR

If you drive, you can cross the Channel by Eurostar (see trains) or ferry. Ferries from Dover to Calais take up to 2 hours. Try P&O, SeaFrance, or see Dover Calais Ferries, where you can compare and book different operators. You can also call on 08704 585 120 (Mon to Fri 8am-8pm, Sat and Sun 9am-5pm).

Montchavin and Les Coches are about 620 miles from Calais - 10 hours drive. Most of the journey is on major autoroutes. Driving is particularly cost-effective if you're in a large group. French fuel prices are lower than in the UK, but remember that you'll have to pay autoroute tolls. Allow about 65 Euro for tolls on both inbound and outbound journeys.

The AA web site has a comparison of UK and overseas fuel prices, a page telling you what tolls you'll need to pay for any European journey and a page detailing compulsory equipment for driving in France. Snow chains, for example, are required on roads above a certain altitude during winter.

If you need Sat - Nav co-ordinates for the chalets just let us know when you book...
