The Riding
Singletrack, singletrack, singletrack, we believe we have the best selection of single-track available in one place anywhere in the world. Generations of farming and local life in the mountains have created hundreds of kms of fantastic trails in the alpine meadows and steep woodland of La Plagne and Les Arcs. Itís definitely up there with the world's best with an almost infinite number of rides to exhilarate and challenge all levels. We have an endless variety of trails going on for miles right from the lodge door and you will have no problem riding different trails straight every day from high mountain trails to woodland tracks littered with cheeky rocks and roots.
The Guiding
Our guides have been riding these trails for over ten years and are certified by the Tourism board of France as mountain guides, some of them are also currently competing in the French Nationals so they will be happy to push you as far as you think (hmmm...) you want to be pushed. We have always and continue to make a point of only a maximum (often less) of eight riders to any one trail leader enabling us to tailor the rides to exactly your needs and specifications, those who want to climb ;o) can climb, whilst those would like a little assistance can use the lift network and uplifts in our 4x4 support vechiles to access the trails.
On your first evening the guides will spend a little time talking to everyone at the lodge over a cool beer, getting an idea of everyoneís needs and wants from the holiday. One the first day we will be able to arrange any hire equipment (see below) and normally spend the rest of the first day on the mountain acclimatizing everyone to the altitude on the local trails around the lodge getting a good idea of your fitness levels this way we can structure the groups and itinerary to suit different individuals needs. We can all ride separately during the early shift and then meet up for lunch. Then head off to ride together in the afternoon or separate again for a cheeky practice to ensure that you leave here more confident than ever on the more technical aspects of the trails. The options are endless...
The Riders
You do not need to be super fit to enjoy the mountain! We can tailor rides to virtually all levels however it does help if you are realistic about your levels of fitness when formulating your expectations ;o)
You will need to bring the usual spare bits (tubes, spare brake parts etc) in case of the odd breakage and the normal trail tools (Allen keys, tyre levers, chain splitter, pump). We do have a fairly good range of tools back at the workshop which you are free to use as you wish. You will also need to bring a good camel pack capable of carrying your (now famous) RR packed lunches and a litre or two of water. Most of the time the weather will facilitate shorts and tee-shirts however please also bring a lightweight fleece, leggings, thermals and a waterproof. Please also do bring a small first aid kit your guide will carry them but it can not do any harm to carry your own.
While you are with us we also ask that you pay attention to these bits of common sense:
